Fall Break is Almost here!

First... let's just say that I ate very well this week!
With the process of designing a menu for my Restaurant, Delish (by felish), for my Senior Project, I needed some photos of the delicious food that is included in my menu.
It's been fun, tasty and who would of thought food was so expensive... ouch I felt this one. Positive note... at least I could eat and share my expenses!

If you are hungry I warn you not to continue reading this post! ...

The California and Tossed Salad

Chocolate Espresso Cupcake

Portobello Burger and Fries

Walnut Cheesecake

With the help of a coffee house in Huntington, 4 cups, and Kyle who made these delicious drinks for me, I now have some pretty cool photos to add to my menu!!

Well... I will be taking a break from my Senior Project now until Tuesday night because... FALL BREAK STARTS ON FRIDAY!!! and I will be spending all my time with my very best friend, Micala McClain!!!!! It has been far too long since we have seen each other and I miss her greatly!

Thursday October 7

During the summer I received the opportunity to work with Ted Cunningham in designing the book cover for his new upcoming book, Young and in Love!

This is what I was given as possible ideas for the book cover:

(are there any significant word pictures or symbology in the text that the cover designer should know about?)

1. Vineyard (Song of Solomon 2:15 is used to discuss young, budding love. Delayed marriage advocates (ie. experts, parents, friends) are referred to as foxes)

2. Twin fawns of a gazelle (Song of Solomon 4:5 is used in context of young lovers)

3. Springtime (Song of Solomon 2:11-13 is used to picture delayed marriage as a long winter, and young love as springtime

and this is what I came up with:

option #1

option #2

I have submitted the designs to Ted Cunningham and now I am just patiently waiting to see what his opinion is. I am so thankful that I gotten the opportunity work on this book cover and broaden my experience just that much further! I will definitely let you all know the outcome as soon as I hear back from Ted!

Until then... I continue to work on my Senior Project which is coming right along. The sign is complete!

and I have begun working on the Menu! If you have any great sandwich, desserts, or drink recipes please let me know! I would love to include them in the menu... and who knows I might just name it after you! Please send me some ideas!!

Best news!!!

This week in Chapel I have gotten the opportunity to hear from Stacey Foster. Along with all the many great things he had to share to HU's campus he also shared his passion for Compassion. I have felt for awhile now that God is challenging me to support Compassion, to support one child. I know we can't save the world but we can help at least one person. I don't know where the money will come from and I can't say for sure that I will have the monthly payment each month, but I do know that God blesses and who am I to take and not give back.

So... meet Byron!

This 6 year old from Nicaragua grabbed my heart! I am so excited to see how God will use my funds to help serve and support Byron as he grows up! But... most of all I am excited to see how God will use Byron to help me! I can't wait to receive my package from Compassion for Byron and begin writing him letters, praying for him and encouraging him to hold on to hope and hold on to the salvation we can find in Jesus Christ!

Thank you Stacey Foster for sharing your passion and challenging me to find the courage and serve the One I love!
